Introducing the newest editions to the Richard Mille collection, the new ultra light, Sporty RM67-02, “Sprint” and “High Jump”. Created in honor of 400m World champion, South Africa’s Wayde Van Niekerk and Qatari national High Jump and Asian record holder, Mutaz Essa Barshim. Unveiled in time for the 2017 IAAF Championships, held in London, in which both athletes would be participating.
Whilst the colors differ, both models are created from Quartz TPT (for the cases), which echo’s the colors of the National flag of their respected countries, and Carbon TPT (for the case bands) making the watches shock resistant and super light weight. To put it into perspective, the watches weigh the equivalent of 2 Compact disks (CD’s), 32 grams to be exact.
Based on Richard Mille’s RM67-01 ultra Flat, which is the flattest piece Richard Mille has ever produced. The watch is powered by the in-house skeletonized caliber CRMA7 automatic movement which is made mostly out of titanium, and features a 50-hour power reserve yet measures only 3.6mm thick. Treated with a black DLC coating, the dials bridges are created from a sheet of titanium which are then hand painted to represent the colors of athletes national flag.
Expected to be available later in the year, with a retail pricing of around R1 700 000.00
